What made you want to work in music?

Growing up in a household filled with music, courtesy of my mother's musical talent and our family's eclectic taste, laid the foundation for my lifelong passion. Before Spotify's algorithms, I was already immersed in the joy of music discovery, crafting playlists for events and friends' parties. I also performed vocally and on the piano quite a bit back in secondary school before deciding to embark on a career in the industry which seemed to fascinate me much more!

Prior to joining Name PR, I interned at a few different record labels in New York City, and that entire experience consolidated my aspiration to work in music for life! There’s just no industry like the music industry.

What’s your favourite album of all time?

This is an extremely difficult question and I cannot simply pick one album. However, an album that I definitely couldn’t live without is Santana’s “Abraxas”. Since I was a kid, its tunes have been on constant rotation, shaping my musical tastes and mirroring my journey through life. Songs that were once playing in the background of my earliest memories have now evolved into the soundtrack of my adulthood, accompanying me through the intricacies of relationships to exploring the world — “Abraxas” follows me everywhere I go!

What’s one piece of tech you couldn’t live without?

My vinyl player and records feel more like cherished treasures than pieces of tech. I'll never forget my first one — a pink Crosley my mother brought back from New York, somehow fitting it on the plane. Recently, I upgraded and have been expanding my collection. Sorting through and archiving my mother’s records during the pandemic kept me occupied, and I've held onto many of them. It's a rewarding hobby, though not so much for my wallet!
